At the 1915 Panama World Expo, Chinese Maotai liquor, which had traveled overseas to participate in the exhibition, became famous overnight. The aroma of the crushed wine attracted visitors, making them aware that this was a characteristic of China, thus gaining fame both at home and abroad and establishing its century-old national wine brand. The World Expo was originally called the World Expo, which was a concentrated display of many countries. What is being displayed? On the one hand, there is culture; on the other hand, there is technology.
In the early days of the World Expo, people displayed more items. But this time at the Shanghai World Expo, it showcases more human thoughts on the future, including energy crises, climate issues, sustainable development, and so on. From the chips in the Expo tickets to the solar energy, a representative of new energy, and the energy-saving star LED, all kinds of applications that adopt semiconductor technology feel particularly familiar to the author. The China Pavilion, which has been crowned the "Crown of the East" at the World Expo, offers a panoramic view of the core area of the Expo site. As a clean energy source, solar energy replacing traditional energy will significantly reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The China Pavilion at this World Expo has adopted solar energy as a green energy source, with an installed capacity of up to 302 kilowatts. According to the architectural design features of the National Pavilion, monocrystalline silicon solar modules are laid on a 68-meter-high platform and a 60-meter-high viewing platform.
The blue part on the roof of the theme pavilion is also a solar module, covering an area of 26,000 square meters. The total installed capacity of the photovoltaic power station is 2,825 KWP, which will become the largest single-building solar photovoltaic building-integrated power station in Asia. The solar panel area is over 30,000 square meters, and the annual power generation exceeds 2.8 million kilowatt-hours, which is the annual electricity consumption of nearly 5,000 ordinary households. The total installed capacity of solar energy in the entire Expo park can reach 4,700 kilowatts.
The photovoltaic module roof project of the Belgium-EU Pavilion was constructed by Trina Solar in Changzhou. The roof contains approximately 690 high-quality Trina modules, covering an area of 1,200 square meters. It is expected to generate 116,000 kWh of electricity, saving 39 tons of coal and reducing 87 tons of carbon emissions annually. In addition to the traditional displays of diamonds, chocolates, etc., the Belgian Pavilion also showcases solar-powered car models, and the exquisite flower curtain wall is also driven by solar energy to rotate the flowers.
Outside the Swiss Pavilion, a 17-meter-high semi-transparent curtain is adorned with 10,000 red "little SUNS". Each "little sun" is a red photosensitive device the size of a disc, which utilizes advanced solar power generation technology. Through the coordinated operation of solar cells, light sensors, leds, etc., it works according to the Angle and intensity of the incident light Absorbing and storing light energy and converting it into electrical energy, it can independently emit light and interact with the exhibition hall curtain.
