According to statistics from Japan in April 2010, the sales of LED bulbs in approximately 4,000 home appliance hypermarkets accounted for 56% of the total bulb sales in hypermarkets, an increase of 7 percentage points compared to March 2010.
In terms of actual penetration rate, the proportion of LED bulbs in Japan's total bulb sales rose from 13% in March to 18% in April 2010, with an astonishing growth rate.
At present, the Japanese government is stepping up its efforts to encourage LED lighting policies and has listed LED bulbs as subsidy recipients under the Eco-Point system. It is expected that this will further accelerate the popularization of LED bulbs in Japan.
